Validation, auth, and clear contracts — the backend habits that keep frontends calm.

A fragile API slows every feature that depends on it. I treat backend work as product work: predictable responses, explicit errors, and auth that matches the real threat model.
Input validation belongs at the edge. Row-level security belongs in the database when data access rules are business rules. Logging and rate limits catch problems before users do.
When the contract is clear, mobile and web clients move faster. When it is not, every screen becomes a negotiation.
Trustworthy APIs are boring in the best way — they just keep working.

A compact delivery checklist I use from discovery to go-live on marketing and product sites.

Why I ship many client marketing sites with Next.js and Vercel for speed, SEO, and low ops overhead.
